2024 International Students' Academic Seminar of the School of Construction Machinery was held successfully

  On Nov. 21, 2024 International Students' Academic Seminar of the School of Construction Machinery was held. Professor Zhang Xinrong, Associate Professor Zhao Wu, Associate Professor Zhang Jun, and Associate Professor Zhang Qingzhe, who are supervisors of international students, attended the meeting. The seminar was presided over by Vice Dean He Zhaoxia.

  The seminar was divided into two sections: Studying in Xi'an and Living in Xi'an. 

  In the Studying in Xi'an section, nine doctoral and senior master's international students reported on their research progress and the phased results they have achieved in digital twin systems, engineering artificial knee joints, rolling contact fatigue of bearing steel, laboratory testing of hydraulic cylinder performance, design of intracranial pressure sensors based on MEMS, and 3D printed arm exoskeletons based on Unity simulation. These topics cover a wide range of fields from mechanical engineering to intelligent manufacturing engineering, providing an important foundation for promoting students' interdisciplinary awareness and broadening their academic horizons. 

  In the Living in Xi'an section, four students from the class of 2024 shared their profound feelings about Xi'an's history, culture, beautiful scenery, and local specialties. The Terracotta Army, ancient city walls, the food of the Muslim Quarter, and Yuanjiacun, as well as the beautiful scenery of Mount Hua and the Qinling Mountains, have left a deep impression on them, which plays an active role in helping students quickly integrate into life in China and promoting Chinese culture. Teachers and students discussed and explored the difficulties and needs faced by international students, as well as training mechanisms and educational management.

  On behalf of the school, He Zhaoxia expressed her gratitude to the teachers and students who prepared for and participated in the seminar. She said that the high-quality training of international students has promoted the diversification of campus culture and brought new vitality to academic research and education. It is hoped that through this academic seminar, students' academic enthusiasm can be better stimulated, interdisciplinary integration can be promoted, and the cross-cultural communication ability of teachers and students can be enhanced. In the future, the school will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with international students, promote the international development process of the school, and better contribute to the high-quality development of the university.
